In 1994, a small group of caring ladies with a concern and passion for the welfare of the children of Union County formed the New Albany chapter of Junior Auxiliary. 

The Junior Auxiliary of New Albany is a member of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries.  This is a non-profit organization founded on the principles of helping children and families.  Junior Auxiliary chapters are located across the southeast portion of the United States. 

The symbol for the National Association is the crown shown above.  Its five points symbolize the ideals of Charity, Youth, Health, Leadership, and Service.

The women of Junior Auxiliary (JA), render charitable and educational services beneficial to the community with a particular emphasis on children.  JA is the vehicle by which its members can be active and constructive participants in the community.  The motto for JA, “Care Today ~ Character Tomorrow”, implies Junior Auxiliary’s emphasis on enhancing the lives of children today to promote a more productive adult in the future.
